The Sketch - Best Kid In Town
The ever prolific Engineer Records release the debut EP from Kent four piece The Sketch. Best Kid In Town is a value for money six track EP, that also has the enhanced feature of the Superman III video on it as well.
My initial thought on listening to it was that they had a little bit of a predictable sound to them, a sound that unfortunately was all a bit emo for me. Dig a little deeper with a few nore plays though and beneath that initial sheen of emo, lurks an alt-rock band that can play their instruments, do have something to say and can put it all to a fairly catchy tune.
Highlights for me were Rotting Away, A Thousand Times Before and Best Kid In Town.
