K. Page & Sleepwaker’s Parade - Green City

The first thing you need to consider if you are reading this and deciding if you should buy it or not is if you like an easy listen, or want to be really challenged?

If it’s the former (and for large parts of this album it left me thinking that) rather than the latter, then you are probably better off staying clear of Green City. If however you like music that is obscure, experimental and not always easy on the ear then this could be the album for you.

Formed in 2002 by K. Page and comprising a myriad of musicians the Sleepwalkers Parade have set out to make a very ambitious album. It flits playfully between jazz and more rocky moments, Page’s vocals can be either sweet or take on an other wordly quality depending on the song.

I’m sure it’s the sort of album that on it’s release on November 29th will completely divide opinion from people, I guess the only way to know though is to have a listen for yourself.
