One Day As A Lion - One Day As A Lion EP
This release couldn’t really have been timed better (at least if you are a cynic like me), with Rage Against The Machine being one of this years huge festival draws as a must see act live, it’s little surprise that this release coincides with the middle of the festival period.
One Day As A Lion is a project between Zack de la Rocha (singer in Rage Against The Machine) and Jon Theodore (drummer in Mars Volta). So far the fruits of that collaboration are this 5 track EP released in late July, while it’s easy to compare to Rage in many ways with the vocal style still similar here from de la Roche, his new incarnation seemed to be more measured and build the songs around the drums of Theodore.
While a couple of the tracks don’t hit the mark entirely, Wild International, Ocean View and If You Fear Dying are all good tracks.
