Madcon - So Dark The Con Of Man

I’d personally never heard of Madcon until this album landed on my door, but it seems they are a duo that we are likely to hear a lot more from, in the short term at least due to them being playlisted on Radio 1 for their current single.

It’s Beggin’ that opens the album and you can see why the track is getting airplay, it’s easy on the ear in a summer vibe sort of way, a nice mix of hip-hop- reggae and soul and it really sets the tempo for the majority of the album. It has an a laidback feel to the album and thats a real plus, it’s got a commercial sensibility to it, but that is tempered nicely by the chilled vibe.

The only really downside to it is that it loses it’s way somewhat about three quarters of the way through the album, it might not be exactly my type of hip-hop, but it’s a decent effort and far better than I expected it to be.
