Hybrid - Soundsystem 101
Hybrid return with a new mix album, in the form of two CD Soundsystem 101.
The Swansea duo Mike Truman and Chris Healings are no stranger to this sort of album of course, but this at least does have a refreshing cinematic feel to it, particularly on the first disc that boasts the likes of Massive Attack, Gorillaz, Spooky, Charlotte James and Harry Gregson Williams, which give an atmospheric feel to the nmix.
On the second disc thinks return a little to the formulaic for me as we get Quivver, Sasha and a couple of Hybrid songs, although I do like the stripped back version of the previous single.
The album is out now through Hope Recordings.
