The Lights - The Score

Five piece The Lights have released their second single, The Score. I listened through a few times as despite initially having no negative thoughts it just didn’t move me in any way and I hoped that the more I listened the more it may grow.

Unfortunately it eventually became back-ground music, not offensive, certainly didn’t feel the need to smash the cd player. But on the other hand it just didn’t excite me, shame because the vocals provided by Lizzy Keys were well put across, the music perfectly timed and the production seemed top notch.

It could have been the choice of track, second singles can be a daunting thing, you want to put out your best but don’t want to be too radical. Overall the band seem professional in their approach but for me need to do something to make them stand out in the crowd, I think they have the talent just need to see if they can come up with the goods. May be a band to listen out for in the future, doubt this single will be the one but who knows it only takes someone to pick this up on a national radio station and Bobs your uncle!!!!!
